Image result for netflixA SVOD (Subscription Video on Demand) is an online service upon where you can pay for subscription for a wide range and variety of film or tv. Examples of SVOD's include Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Now TV.

There are many advantages to a film maker of  SVOD's over the traditional tv screen or movie cinema. One advantage may be that it is much cheaper to publish the video online rather than having to advertise over many states or countries and try and get your film in cinemas on a global scale. Another advantage may be that it is far easier to get your video accepted for publication on a SVOD than going through your traditional tv or cinema routes. Audiences can also specifically target a film in a niche market with SVOD's too. Audiences also expect instant access to new films or tv episodes and the demand is high.

Some disadvantages may include that film makers on SVOD's may end up giving up the film rights for a low price as they think it is a lot of money at the time although they don't realise the potential of the movie. Another con is that there is a restriction of creativity depending on the SVOD's ideals. Also your film could be overlooked as there is so much choice online.
