Stereotypes in a Comedy Film
There are many stereotypes in a Comedy film which are used to really immerse us and entertain us. A great example of a film which has a lot of comedy stereotypes is The Hangover.
One stereotype in a comedy film is the use of a fat person who usually has the best lines and is the one character who is hilarious no matter the situation. This character is usually the only person in the movie who could deliver comedy as they do. An example of this is Alan from Hangover (Played by Zach Galifianakis). Alan is quite uneducated and almost has the mind of a child in the ways he acts. Alan is also the person who usually gets the group of friends into trouble and the person the group almost seem to need to look after and watch as he in unpredictable.
Another stereotype in a comedy film is the use of a well behaved man/woman who has a good job and is used to living a settled life. This person is usually against all the stupid activity around them. The person is also usually the one to get the most drunk, and usually does something stupid and out of their nature whilst out on an unplanned night. In The Hangover, an example of this type of person is Stu (Played by Ed Helms) who is a well paid dentist who is used to living quite a boring, settled life with his controlling, bitter wife. Stu in the Hangover part 2 gets so drunk that he gets a face tattoo during the unplanned night out.
Another stereotype is the use of a man/woman who has a good job and is settled but lives to break the rules and have a good time. This person is usually married but doesn't like the status of being tied down to a relationship and not being able to enjoy the life he once had. This person is usually fairly sensible when it comes to fixing the situation and is seen as a leader when problems occur. This person in The Hangover is Phil (Played by Bradley Cooper).
